• Approved outside evaluation of the Shotspotter system in a 4-1 vote, with Council Member Vetaw voting no.
• Unanimously approved a request for the administration to evaluate how the system is used as part of a comprehensive gun violence program and how it is used in other cities.
• Received a presentation from the Performance Management and Innovation, which operates as internal consultants to other city departments.
  • Key projects include goal-setting guidance for city departments during the budget process, a dashboard to help visualize goals and accomplishments of programs, a pilot to move non-injury vehicle collisions from MPD to traffic control, embedding a social worker in 911 response, and a Community Safety Ambassadors pilot through the South Minneapolis Community Safety Center opening in 2025.
