• Overrode a mayoral veto 9-2 to enact a fee on carbon dioxide emissions in 2025. Adopted an amendment by a vote of 9-2 to push back the implementation date to July 1, 2025. A fee study completed in May 2025 will determine the needed fee to cover the costs of implementing the program.
• Approved, by a vote of 9-2, a motion directing the City Attorney’s Office to draft an ordinance related to fees for city-owned equipment used by off-duty police officers while working other jobs. Also approved a legislative directive to study the costs of equipment used in off-duty work.
• Approved a resolution expressing the council’s view on 3000 Minnehaha Ave, the site of the burned Third Precinct. Adopted by a vote of 8-3.
