  • The committee chose to forward without recommendation, rather than approve, the assessments because of concerns voiced by a property owner who claims they are being unfairly charged for issues the city is responsible for.
• Approved an ordinance amendment to extend the city’s franchise fee agreement with Xcel Energy through April 17, 2025. Approved a public hearing for the committee’s Oct. 10 meeting regarding a draft resolution supporting a plan for closure of the Hennepin Energy Recovery Center (HERC).
• Approved a resolution approving the preliminary design plans for the Blue Line Light Rail Extension, a first action step for Minneapolis in the municipal consent process, by a vote of 5-1, with Council Member Vetaw voting no.
• Approved a legislative directive requesting a report regarding the theft of copper wire from street lighting.
