Hennepin County Board and Regional Railroad Authority
Hennepin County Board of CommissionersRemote
- Approved moving the location for the new Hennepin Healthcare parking ramp, which will replace the one lost when the county builds a new hospital tower. The ramp will now be located on Centennial Place between 9th and 10th Streets. This means the county must first acquire the properties, which the board authorized the administrator to do in this action.
- Approved a $1,148,005 contract with Moltron Builders to add gender neutral restrooms to the “625 Building” on South 4th Avenue, which the county acquired in 2018.
- Approved a resolution in support of Minnesota retaining its state constitutional amendment that designates 40% of state lottery proceeds for the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund. This designation, first approved by Minnesota voters in 1991, expires in 2025. This fall, Minnesotans’ ballots will include a question on whether to continue this policy for another 25 years.
- Accepted about $1.5 million in federal grants for rapid rehousing services. The county will contract with Agate Housing (formerly St. Stephen’s), Simpson Housing and The Link to rehome unhoused families.
- Approved grants to cities and organizations for planting trees, with Minneapolis being a key priority area.
