Hennepin County Board - Committees
Hennepin County Board of CommissionersRemote
The Administration, Operations and Budget Committee:
- Received a preliminary presentation on the proposed 2025 budget and levy. There will be a more detailed presentation Sept. 10, and the board will vote on the maximum levy Sept. 17. Then, the final budget and levy will be approved in December.
- Forwarded a proposal for a 5% raise for county commissioners effective in January. The board will vote at its meeting next week.
- Approved a raise for the county attorney and sheriff, bringing the two positions’ salaries into parity. The county attorney currently makes $195,065 and the sheriff makes $185,775. The proposal would set the two salaries to $224,820 beginning in January, which would increase to $231,564 in January 2026.
- The proposal cites that the Hennepin County has the second-lowest paid sheriff, and lowest paid county attorney, in the metro.
The Housing and Redevelopment Authority approved the termination of a contract with L&H Station Development, LLC, for the remainder of the Lake and Hiawatha Redevelopment Project, which entails building affordable housing.
