Meeting as committees, the board:
- Approved a new agreement with Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid in the amount of $120,00 to provide Fair Housing Testing in suburban Hennepin County, from March 1, 2025-June 30, 2027
- Approved reauthorization of a 25-year Commercial Paper Program for an amount not to exceed $400 million
- received a presentation on the need for the county’s commercial paper program.
- Approved an agreement with HDR Engineering, Inc. to make multimodal safety improvements on Park and Portland Avenues through Dec. 31, 2028. The agreement has been increased by $2.35 million for a new total county cost of $4.25 million
- Received a presentation on the Park and Portland Avenues project. The goal of the project is to improve safety along those streets from downtown by I-94 to 46th Street in South Minneapolis
- Approved an agreement with City of Hopkins for $90,000 to establish alternative mental health responses prodated from Jan. 1, 2025 to Dec. 31, 2026
- Approved a joint agreement with the City of Minneapolis authorizing services of Hennepin County’s 911 embedded social worker program, prodated from Jan. 1, 2025 to Dec. 31, 2026
- Approved an amended agreement with the Department of Human Services for the Hennepin County Health Care For the Homeless Opioid Response Services Program, extending the funding period through Sept. 29, 2027 and increasing funding by $1.7 million for a total of over $2.8 million.
- Approved an amended agreement with the Department of Human Services for naloxone training and naloxone kit distribution services, extending services through June 30, 2027 and increasing funding by $2.1 million, for a total funding of over $3.7 million.
- Discussed the 2025 Federal Legislative Platform and how to move forward with the advocacy and funds requests amid the changing DC landscape.
