Meeting as committees, the board:
- Approved a contract for the refurbishment of Penn Lake Library not to exceed $99,700 on a voice vote with no discussion.
- Approved an amendment to an agreement with Vertan Psychology and Consultant Services to provide group facilitation services not to exceed $150,000 and an amendment to an agreement with Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center for advocacy services for female sexual assault victim who are residents of the Adult Corrections Facility not to exceed $47,000.
- Approved an amendment to an agreement with Building Bridges and with Accurate Testing, Inc., shifting from providing one-day training to people with impaired driving offices to providing individualized chemical health driving impairment education workshops, with no other changes to the terms of the contract.
- Returned to staff an item regarding an agreement with the City of Minneapolis for organics processing, including extending the timeline for the agreement and the rates for processing organics.
- Accepted the 2024 Special Gift Fund Annual Report. The Special Gift Fund provides financial assistance to Health and Human Services clients who are facing a crisis or have special circumstances where all other finances resources have been exhausted.
- Approved a supplemental appropriation for $2,067,252 to the Human Services and Public Health budget. These funds are to improve employment outcomes for people with disabilities.
- Approved an amendment to an agreement with the Department of Human Services for $1,585,313 for Ryan White HIV/AIDS services. Approved an amendment to an agreement with Informedia Group, Inc. for after hours telephone nurse line services to Hennepin Health members for $250,000.
Afterward, the Housing & Redevelopment Authority (which consists of all the board members) heard a brief presentation from staff from Housing and Economic Development. This project is related to $41.2 million in housing bonds. The funds are for the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority Springs and includes rehabilitation for existing units and an additional 15 units.
