• The Hennepin County Board Health and Human Services Committee accepted a grant for $676,370 from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. This funding allows the county to expand family response and stabilization services’ capacity for weekend service hours beginning in January 2023.
• The Health and Human Services Committee also accepted $1,489,402 in total grant funds from the U.S. department of HUD Continuum of Care Program to provide rapid rehousing services for homeless families. Family shelters in the county are currently operating at overflow levels.
• The Administration, Libraries and Budget Committee heard a presentation from County Administrator David Hough on the Proposed 2023 Operating and Capital Budgets. The proposed Hennepin County Budget for 2023 is $2.57 billion with a $930.8 million net property tax levy representing an increase of 3.5%.
• The Housing and Redevelopment Authority approved the final authorization to issue tax­ exempt multifamily housing revenue bonds for affordable housing developments Canvas Apartments at 2301 California St NE. and Currie Commons at 187 Humboldt Ave N in Minneapolis.
