The Planning Commission approved five items including:

  • A new five-story multiple-family residential building with 89 units at 921 and 927 Marshall St NE in the Saint Anthony West neighborhood. This project will include 7 Affordable units per inclusionary zoning policy. Conversion of an existing hotel into 55 dwelling units at 219 4th Street S in Downtown West.
  • Construction of a new, four-unit residential building at 4352 Zenith Avenue S in the Linden Hills neighborhood. This project approval was delayed multiple cycles to allow for more engagement with and input from neighbors.

The commission delayed approval of the conversion of an existing hotel (most recently used as a shelter during the pandemic) into 43 dwelling units and 2 single-room occupancy units at 925 4th Street SE in the Marcy Holmes neighborhood. Hennepin County is the property owner and developer and is seeking to provide deeply affordable housing for residents making 30% or less of AMI.
