The Budget Committee received a presentation concerning the consent decree agreed upon by the Minnesota Department of Human Rights and the Minneapolis Police Department and how different city departments plan to budget for its requirements over the next few years.

The majority of budget requests being made are for new hires for positions like data analysts and Police Conduct Case Investigators. The IT department is also requesting $300k annually to manage a new Early Intervention System, or EIS.
