• The board heard public comments regarding the 2022-2027 Project Labor Agreement from various members of the community including community residents, business owners, and construction professionals. Comments were passionate both in opposition to and in support of the agreement.
• Several individuals, including teachers, parents, and members of the Racial Justice Network spoke to lament past communication failures in the district and to urge the Board to communicate thoroughly and with great transparency and focus to involve the community in the search for a new permanent superintendent.
• Interim Superintendent Rochelle Cox and district staff presented updates about direction for the new school year. Their formal presentation can be accessed from the Agenda.
• Approved new business included beginning the work on a name change for Patrick Henry. The item was approved with no one adding comment or discussion.
