- Unanimously approved Mayor Jacob Frey’s nomination of Brian O’Hara to be the Minneapolis Police Chief. Next, the full City Council will vote on it.
- Advanced two ordinance amendments introduced at last week’s City Council meeting:
- Referred to staff the subject matter of an ordinance that would amend regulations for air pollution. When Council Member Robin Wonsley introduced this at the City Council meeting, she said this could include classifying carbon dioxide as a pollutant as a way to incentivize lower carbon emissions.
- Set a public hearing for Nov. 9 to consider an ordinance amendment that would “establish signage allowances and prohibit disrupting access to and occupying driveways of reproductive healthcare facilities.” Council Member Lisa Goodman said this was in response to ongoing threats of violence to reproductive health clinics in Minneapolis.
